the hunter. as the sun sets, a shadow sweeps the town. vΓ­ masquerades as a mourning widow who suffers blindness at the hand of his late husband who died in a 'fatal accident'. he wears standard mourner's attire ━ complete with a lace blindfold or a veil ━ that tends to cover him completely. many tell tales of a crying woman who seeks the comfort of unfaithful or abusive lovers, luring them into the woods or behind closed doors, only for them to never return. targeting ruthless criminals and terrible people both fulfills his moral compass, and offers a steady supply of aether to consume. it's a public service.

the mad widow of kugane. it is a title befitting this mysterious someone suffering from constant grief and heartbreak over the loss of an abusive husband. the story is spun as a lure, to make awful lovers believe themselves lucky to meet a mysterious beauty in need of a body to warm one's bed and chase away the demon called loneliness. those same men and women who disappear into the night with this shadow often become bony remains covered in moss and overgrown foliage.many chalk it up to folklore. most believe this mourner is a vengeful spirit picking on people and criminals that nobody will miss for a reason. rumors only serve to draw in thrill seekers, conspiracy theorists, and curious minds. some secluded villages have developed cult followings to this entity, following the forests of women-shaped trees, only to chain children up in the forest clearing as offering in hopes to curb the spirit's wrath. the children are always free'd, and the village left painted red with no survivors in sight.the truth. when one requires sufficient living aether and flesh to satisfy not only one's own needs, but the requirements of a voidsent pact, one often turns to the easiest method available based on their skillset. in vΓ­'s case, he weaponizes his charm and appearance by leaving much to the imagination so that he can entice people easier. once behind closed doors, or lured away from prying eyes, those who believe they're lucky will soon find out that they were so incredibly wrong in their assessment of the situation. he paralyzes his prey with a single bite, and feasts on their aether, liver, and flesh.

cordolium. a name befitting this entity of grief and heartache. when vΓ­'s soul had never once known the comforts of true love, it is a one-sided infatuation that breaks him. this is the manifestation of 3 millennia worth of loneliness and grief.weapons. aside from the scythe that merged with his arm and the elongated claw, his halo is capable of acting as a focus for magic.battle style. it mimics vΓ­'s in that it's still very much a dance, swift movements that sweep in rhythm. despite his size and the heft to his blade, he is remarkably fast as though utterly weightless.signature ability. he is capable of emitting a wailing sound to severe that it can crumble buildings, shatter glass, and decimate eardrums which causes mortals to pass out from the pain.

izanami. known as the second to hold the seat of azem, following venat and shared with their sibling izanami. they held this position for a brief duration before disaster struck, and they were sealed away in pandæmonium for consuming the living aether of countless ancients.role. izanami acted as the executioner to their twin's judge. while their sibling additionally took on the clerical and political duties, izanami took on the role of the traveler, collecting lost souls along the way.fighting style. curator of the reaper, izanami originally intended the art to include dual - wielding sickles that combine into a long staff with large curved blades on both ends. one sickle was for cutting the physical world, while the other could carve the spiritual world.sight. izanami was blinded after a soul transfer incident at the akadaemia, making them unable to see the physical world but heightening their ability to see souls. finding it invasive to one's privacy, they tend to hide their eyes behind a mask.

β—†   izanami and izanagi were twin souls of equal measure, yet different temperament. where izanagi (he/him) thrived in education and politics, izanami (she/her) was too absorbed into spellcraft and troublemaking.β—†   izanami was constantly put in the shadow of her twin's accomplishments. while this allowed her the freedoms to do as she pleased, there was no ignoring the neglect as izanagi was favored by their parents.β—†   during her travels, venat stumbled upon these remarkable twins. she found they were the perfect balance: order and chaos. with her retirement from the seat of azem approaching, she took them under her wing and decided to be their mentor to improve their strengths.β—†   when the time came to pick a new azem, venat vouched for the twins and suggested they both take her seat. with this concept of two souls for a single seat, the convocation couldn't ignore that they'd make the perfect judge and executioner duo. izanagi (judge) would undertake tasks requiring political knowledge and thoughtful considerations, while izanami (executioner) would travel and report her findings. a convocation crystal was made for each of them: the sun for izanagi, and the moon for izanami.β—†   yet even though they were equals in the convocation, izanami was forced to live in her sibling's shadow. traveling further isolated her from making meaningful connections, and her reports were always dismissed quickly to make way for her twin's work and discoveries.β—†   of course, tragedy eventually struck. seeking to prove herself, izanami broke into the akadaemia and attempted to refine soul transfer technology without supervision or prior authorization. when izanagi stepped in to stop her, their souls merged and created an unstable spirit with izanami as the vessel.β—†   izanami's entire person changed. thus began the change from 'she' to 'they', implying there were two of them rather than a single entity. at times, they have used 'we'. while izanami's appearance never changed, it's clear... they aren't quite the same.β—†   they were only further shunned by everyone around them. all who loved izanagi blamed them, claiming they killed him out of jealousy. driven to madness by inner instability amplified by outside influence, they lost control and turned into a terrible monster that began consuming the aether of life around them. with a great deal of resources, the convocation eventually captured and imprisoned izanami within pandΓ¦monium.
